So 107 people - so far - are dead, but it appears none of them are my colleagues. I found out today that there was more than one colleague in an at-risk area, but all are okay - including the one who lives in the Kinglake area, where at least 32 have been killed. The fires are still burning, so a couple of workmates in affected areas are at home today, keeping an eye on things. Here's hoping the fires are under control soon. I'm off to the blood bank today to donate - I made the appointment last week, but it seems more timely than ever. The communications officer here at work has just sent around an email saying that the ACTU is donating $250,000 to the Relief Fund, and that we should be adding another $20, 000 to that once we get through the formalities. Count your blessings, y'all.

It's all over the news over here across the ditch. Not good, not good at all. :( Sending you good thoughts, but more importantly, rain.
Thank you!

Apparently you're also sending us 100 firefighters, according to abc.net.au. Cheers!
I'm still trying to get my head around the idea that whole towns can be gone. Is that true?
Yep :-( Small rural towns, to be sure, but still gone. Although apparently there is still one building left in Marysville.
