Just had a fascinating lecture on the Anti-Discrimination laws (state and federal) from a lawyer with an associated Industrial Law firm. It was an inspiring insight into ways to assist our members with their issues. Unfortunately, it also reminded me that the State Government has just made it legal for religious groups to discriminate against people in their hiring practices if the person doesn't live in accordance with their beliefs: for example, Catholic schools can refuse to hire single mothers or gay people. Nice one, fatheads.

Wow. It constantly surprises me how messed up we are.
I keep thinking, "Why am I surprised? People suck!" but I am, every time. *sigh*
