ice queen

Oh, my god.

My ankle is enormous.

I just had the first good look at it after Lea went and picked up a bandage and some crutches. They threw in a free ice pack, too. Jeez, I hadn't realised how swollen and bruised it is. No wonder it hurts so much! Having the crutches helps a lot, though, as I can now get around without putting so much weight on it. Still - ow, ow, ow. No way I'll be able to cope with trams for a little while. I'll have to cab to work & back. Sigh.

Ouch, it hurts. Sorry to hear that.

I got a sprained ankle several times when I was a teen-ager until, some years later, I had a more serious incident. They had to cast my ankle and foot for a month, though it was only sprained and not broken. No fun, but since then I never had a sprained ankle anymore in my life.

I hope you can cure it well not to have any consequences from it.
Oh, wow. That sounds horrible! You poor thing. I hope you stay sprain-free. I know I sprained my ankle once before, about 15 years ago, but I don't remember it hurting like this.

*grumbles* I want it better NOW! I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to manage having a shower, washing my clothes, getting more food for the cat ... sigh. I'm very impatient and hate not being able to do what I want to do, whenever I want to do it!
I'm sorry, hun!

Well, remember RICE- rest, ice, compression, elevation. Sounds like a good excuse to have your flatmate wait on you hand and foot...or ankle, as it were. LOL

Just like carrieross, I've sprained mine several times too- only one needed a cast though. No fun at all.

Hope you have a nice, pain-free weekend. Copious amounts of alcohol might help. *g*

Like I said to Ross, I've only sprained my ankle once, 15 years ago. I don't remember it hurting like this. I HATE BEING INJURED!

The crutches are helpful, though. And Alana cooked me dinner and made me a cup of Green Tea with Mango last night, despite her raging head cold. And this morning Lily made me toast and coffee. I have nice flatmates! I don't think I'll be going to work tomorrow, though. Just trying to get ready will wipe me out. I think I'll have to ring in and see if the tech guys can set me up with an email login from home, and I can do my emails and phone calls from here. Sucks! Meant to be a big week, this week too.

Hope your weekend is going well!
oi hoppy - no good.

avoid the alcohol actually as it thins down the blood and can increase the swelling and bruising - fwiw.

Yeah, I'd read that you should avoid alcohol - much to my disgust! What a waste of good codeine!
